We are a Cheshire based charity working in the field of LGBTQ+ awareness for over 30 years
Body Positive receive grant from the Postcode Community Trust
Body Positive Cheshire & North Wales is delighted to announce it has received a £50,000 grant from the Postcode Community Trust, thanks to funds raised by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
The unrestricted funding will help support the charity's core work providing specialist LGBTQ+ wellbeing services across Cheshire and North Wales, including counselling, peer support groups, community outreach, volunteer development, and activities that reduce isolation and improve mental wellbeing.
Founded in 1992, Body Positive has evolved from its roots in HIV support to become a leading LGBTQ+ wellbeing charity, supporting thousands of people each year through a range of services designed to help individuals live healthier, happier and more connected lives.
Sally Probert-Hill, CEO of Body Positive, said:
"We are incredibly grateful to the Postcode Community Trust and to players of People's Postcode Lottery for making this award possible. Flexible funding like this is invaluable because it allows us to respond to the real needs of our communities, strengthen our organisation and continue providing essential support to LGBTQ+ people across the region.
"At a time when demand for our services continues to grow, this funding will help us ensure that people can access support, connection and a welcoming community when they need it most."
The funding forms part of the Millionaire Street programme, which supports charities and community organisations making a positive difference across the UK.
